Professional Profile

Erum Hanif is not just an Accomplished Executive and Visionary leader, but also a self-starter with strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Her commitment to social services, women empowerment, diversity, equity, and inclusion is evident in her proven track record and solid expertise in Social Services, Human Resources, Strategic Business Decision Making, Business Development, Strategic Planning, Compliance, Legal, Employee Relations and Training, Advocacy, Senior Services, Contract Management, and Business Process Implementation. With 20+ years’ experience in leadership and management, she has successfully led and expanded HR, IT, business operations, community services, social services, and senior services, focusing on historically marginalized communities including children, teen, adult, women, and seniors. Her comprehensive experience in ensuring the success of public & private programs is a testament to her leadership and management skills.

She is a career-oriented woman with a focused vision, determination, and can-do attitude. She is a community advocate who believes in representing the community as well as giving back to it. She is determined to continue her work to uplift historically underserved and underrepresented communities, especially Muslims and black and brown communities. With her clear vision and determination, she brought many needed services and programs for the diversified community of South Brooklyn and beyond in partnership with many city agencies, elected representatives, and community-based organizations.

Awards and Recognition

In 2021, the City and State of NY awarded her a Non-Profit 40 Under 40 Rising Star. In 2022, she was selected for CORO and NYIC-Immigrant Civic Leadership Program and she was selected for the New American Leaders training in 2024. She is also the 2025 Fellow of New York Interfaith center. She has received multiple awards from Federal, State, and City representatives for her tireless work for the marginalized communities of NYC.

Community Leadership

Erum is not just a member of Language Assistance Advisory Committee of NYC Civic Engagement Commission, member of Community Board 13, Ex-PTA President, and School Leadership Team member at a local Public School. She is a trailblazer and a fearless advocate of her community and is also part of many advocacy efforts for the Muslim and AAPI communities of New York State.

Education and Professional Development

She is also a lifelong learner; she completed an advanced certificate in Immigration Law from the CUNY School of Professional Studies in 2022 and is currently preparing for the NY bar exam. Her educational background includes a master’s degree in business administration with a major in Human Resources, a bachelor’s degree in law, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in Marketing. Her multilingual abilities in English, Urdu, and Hindi further enhance her professional capabilities.
